The growing desert

Allan Savory has dedicated his life to studying management of grasslands. And if that doesn't sound exciting, just wait, because it touches on the deepest roots of climate change and the future of the planet.

"The most massive, tsunami, perfect storm is bearing down on us," is the grim beginning to Savory's talk. This storm is the result of rising population, of land that is turning to desert, and, of course, climate change.

A very well structured argument by Savory that in order to prevent grassland ecosystem the only option the scientist or the governments or policy makers have "more livestock in grass land area". So  its a natural phenomena which then prevent grassland to become a dessert. Must watch and learn this wonderful research.

Raja Taimur Hassan is a Public Policy Analyst and earns his Master degree in Government & Public Policy from National Defence University, Islamabad in 2011. During one and half year at SDPI he is working as a consultant & correspondent with Sustainable Development TV (SDTV), a sister organization of Sustainable Development Policy Institute, where he is responsible for producing quality content, interviewing experts, writing scripts in order to produce final product i.e. a news package. Currently he is working on a research paper on the topic “Analyzing the drivers of Deforestation: its impact on Environment & Economy” (In progress).
